Drum Line + Handbells = ….
Here’s a creative version of Drummer boy we did at Level Ground Mennonite Church Christmas Eve Service. There are several larger churches (with bigger budgets) that have done full out ‘Stomp’ versions of Drummer Boy (see a few below). Our version featured two people on handbells starting out and only a handful of drummers but it actually worked out pretty good and we had a really good response afterwards. If your looking for a creative way to arrange the song Drummer Boy, doing some kind of drum line is a great option, especially since you can involve lots of musicians. I think it could even work with kids if you had some time to practice.
(ps. If you can’t do a drum line, at least give your drummer a minute or two to do the craziest and most elaborate drum solo he can possibly do)
